About
I am an artist and educator, having started my career in illustration and graphic design agencies. I then spent over 35 years developing my own skills and helping others to develop their creativity, confidence and enjoyment of Art and Design.
I am inspired by the challenge of capturing a sense of time and place, with a particular focus on light, contrast and reality.
My work is architectural in style, grounded in careful observation and the fundamental principles of drawing. These skills continue to develop and shape the way I see and record the world around me.
Approach
I aim to give form and solidity to my subjects through the use of pen, ink and pencil, with the occasional addition of colour.
